Barcodes and Warnings

Barcodes are to be incorporated into the artwork or a sticker applied to every product that is supplied to our business before the stock is supplied. If you do not currently have barcodes on your products, you need to organise the quickest way to implement this in order to continue or commence supply. We have a team that can assist with this implementation and can be contacted via the Merchandising Team.

Warnings are also an important part of keeping our team safe when manually handling heavy and bulky items such as bike-boxes. Any box/carton that weighs 17kg or greater requires Weight Warning Labels applied to two adjacent sides of the box/carton. Any box/carton that is 125litres/0.125m3 or greater in size requires Bulky Warning Labels applied to two adjacent sides. Use the link above to download the appropriate image.

GS1 is the not-for-profit international organisation that provides you with barcode numbers to put on your products so that you can sell them throughout the globe without anyone using the same number. In order to sell a product into Goldcross stores, you must have a unique company prefix number as allocated by GS1. If you are a distributor of a product in Australia, the owner of the product may have already done this in their own country and you only need to provide Goldcross with the number already displayed on the product. The following link will help you create your barcode number if you have registered with GS1 to become a member so you can barcode the product with your own company prefix.
